Rafa beat Federer in the final of an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi, 7-6 (4) 7-6 (3).

A good precursor for the rest of the season for Nadal, but also a good sign for Federer, who managed to stay very competitive throughout the match. Federer also won the exhibition match between the two in Zurich before the new year, straight after his win in the World Tour Finals.

This could be a very good year for their rivalry.
