1. Federer hits Doha Quarters

The current world number 2, Roger Federer, has won his 2nd round match in Doha today, to advance to the quarter finals there. He beat fellow Swiss, Marco Chiudinelli, 7-6 7-5.

A somewhat up and down performance from Federer. The Swiss maestro showing some sublime shot-making, but that was intermingled with poor shot choices and sudden seeming lapses in energy. This was further exacerbated by Chiudinelli’s surprisingly good play throughout.

A good match for Federer to win, but I’m sceptical about his chances to win the tournament now. He’s been too tested by too low-ranked players, and has not shown the fine form we saw toward the end of last year… We’ll see though.

P.s. Roger’s not being mega-gay there, he’s throwing his wristband.
