Nadal tumbles at quarters hurdle again

Rafael Nadal has once again been booted out of the Australian Open in the quarter-final round on account of his failing body. Ferrer, the 7th seed, will now go through to face the number 5 seed, Andy Murray.

As you can see, Rafa had a terrible performance and it lead to a fairly comfortable win for Ferrer, taking it 6-4 6-2 6-3. That’s not to take anything away from Ferrer, he played well and was consistent in the way he was hitting winners. I know how hard it is to play against someone you know is injured and to not let that knowledge affect your game, especially if the person across the net is your friend, but he did well to handle the situation and ease out a win.

So the number 1 seed bows out all too early, and the “Rafa Slam” will not be accomplished.
